This series is inspired by the phenomenon of cauliflory—when trees flower and fruit directly from their trunks and older branches. I first encountered it in the rainforests of Far North Queensland, where flashes of flowers and clusters of fruit seemed to emerge from the very body of the trees. It felt otherworldly, as if the forest was revealing a hidden secret.
These prints capture that sense of strangeness and abundance—the way life in the tropics rewrites the rules of growth, beauty, and resilience. The Cauliflora set is both a celebration of these extraordinary plants and a reminder of the magic held within the natural world.
