Animal Portraits

from $450.00

Animal Portraits

Each portrait is created on archival Arches paper, built up in layers of ink to capture both the likeness and the character of the animal you hold close. I approach each piece with care and attention, focusing on the details and qualities that make your companion unique.

A plant or flower of personal significance can be included in the composition—either one you choose, or one I select to complement the portrait. The work can be richly detailed or more minimal, according to your preference, while maintaining a sense of balance and harmony.

With a background in drawing and printmaking, I treat each commission as a lasting work of art—designed to be cherished and preserved.

I work closely with each collector throughout the process to ensure the portrait feels right. Sketches are shared before inking begins, allowing for adjustments at that stage. Once the drawing is underway, the focus is on bringing the final portrait to completion with care and attention.

Commission Process

  • Consultation
We begin with a conversation about your animal companion and any meaningful details you’d like included.

  • Initial Mock-Up
A preliminary sketch is shared for your review, allowing adjustments to the composition before the final work begins.

  • Final Approval & Inking
Once the sketch is approved, the portrait is completed on archival paper, preserving its detail and character.

Timeline
Each portrait is carefully completed over approximately one month from consultation to completion. Shorter timelines can be discussed if needed.
